Millionaire playboy caveman Millstone Rockafella arranges a wild n' wacky
BC bike race, the winner of which recieves the ULTIMATE BOULDERDASH BIKE.
Cool n' crazy CLIFF ACE has had his sunglasses set on a boulderdash bike
since he was knee-high to a baby diplodocus, so he signs up for the race
- taking his cavebabe ROXy along for the ride! But he's got some rock-hard
competition in the form of Sid Viscous, Granite Jackstone - and eight
other fast n' fierce opponents!
BC BIKE CONTROLS
================
Keyboard Controls
Q - Accelerates
A - Brakes
Comma - Moves your bike to the left.
Full Stop/Period - Moves your bike to the right.
Tab - Punches Right.
Space Bar - Activates Nitro.
Brake (A) when turning (COMMA OR FULL STOP/PERIOD) peforms a handbrake turn.
Mouse Controls
Move mouse left - Moves your bike to the left.
Move mouse right - Moves your bike to the right.
Left mouse button - Accelerates
Right mouse button - Brakes
Double-Click left mouse button - Activates Nitro.
Minus key on numeric keypad - Punches right.
If you brake (right mouse button) when turning (mouse left/right) you perform
a handbrake turn.
Joystick Controls
Up - Accelerates
Down - Brakes
Left - Moves your bike to the left.
Right - Moves your bike to the right.
Button 1 - Punches right.
Button 2 - Activates Nitro
If you brake (joystick down) when turning (joystick left/right) you perform
a handbrake turn.
General Controls
P - Pause/un-pause the game
When the game has been paused, the following function keys are available:
Graphical Detail Levels
F1 - High detail floor
F2 - Low detail floor
F3 - Short range objects
F4 - Meduim range objects
F5 - Long range objects
Player One views
F6 - Low view
F7 - Meduim view
F8 - High view
Player Two views
F9 - Low view
F10 - Meduim View
F11 - High view
Player One only
F12 - Toggles between letter box format and full screen.
Getting Started
===============
BC RACERS begins with an animated introduction. THe introduction is followed
by the Title Screen. From the introduction, press Esc to take you back to
the Main Menu.
Main Menu
=========
The main menu presents you with three choices: Races, comprising the 4 types
of BC Race (Practice, Easy, Medium and Rockhard), Options or Quit. Press the
space bar to select which BC Race you wish to enter and then press return
to take you to the BC Bike n' Riders selection screen. Or, before entering
a BC Race, you may want to select options to take you to the Options menu.
BC Options
==========
The BC Options menu allows you set certain conditions in the game. Select
the category by pressing the Space Bar or Return, to toggle through the
available options.
Enemy: Select Easy, Meduim or Hard enemies. The more difficult the enemy
level, the harder your opponents will be to defeat. (this enemy level option
is seperate from the four types of BC Races.)
Players: Choose a 1 or 2 player game.
Player 1 Controls : Choose either keyboard, joystick or mouse.
Player 2 Controls : Choose either keyboard, joystick or mouse.
Laps : Choose the number of you want for each race.
Music : Play the game with the music on or off (the game will run faster with
-out any music playing!.
Sound FX : Play the game with the sound effects on or off.
Music Test : Listen to the rock-solid tunes from the game.
Exit : Return to the main menu
BC Bike N' Riders Section
=========================
You have a choice of 5 bikes n' riders to race with:
Cliff Ace and Roxy
Bob Hardley & Jimi Hndtrix
Brick Jagger & Gary Gritta
Chuck Rock & Chuck JRn.
Granite Jackstone & Tina Burna
Sado-Tooth and Sid Viscous
To seleect a bike n' riders, press the cursor keys left or right to rotate
the bikes. Pressing return selects that bike and riders. Pressing the space
will cause Jack Hammer, The BC racers compere, to raise his stone Information
Block, with statistics about the riders chiselled on to it. Pressing the
Space bar again will allow you to change your mind and choose another set
of bike n' riders. Press return and the bike n' riders you have selected
will then race off-screen.
The BC Races
============
There are 4 BC Races: Practice, Easy, Medium and ROCKHARD. Each race is
split into 8 heats, each heat with 4 tracks of differing difficulty - making
32 tracks in total. The 8 heats will occur in the following order
Heat1: ROCK CITY RACE Heat5: SWAMP STOMP
Heat2: NIGHT RALLY Heat6: BLIZZARD BLITZ
Heat3: DESERT DRIVE Heat7: CAVE RAVE
Heat4: JUNGLE RUMBLE Heat8: VOLCANO DASH
At the finish of each BC Race, a trophy will be awarded to the winner. To
win a trophy, you must race through all 8 heats of a particualr BC Race
(Practice, Easy, Medium or Rockhard). Your position at the end of each heat
will win you points which will be applied to the league table. You will only
win the trophy for a particular BC Race if you appear at the top of the
league table after the 8th heat of the RockHard' difficulty level BC Race
, will win you, not only the Rockhard and enormous trophy, but the coveted
Ultimate Boulderbash Bike as well!!.
Cliff's Clues
=============
Cool n' Crazy Cliff Ace, has some prehysterical hints to help you out:
- If you wipe out other riders, you gain bonus points! So attack like a
mastodoon on heat!
- Try and save a Nitro for the end of the race.
- Try and find the Not-so-secret Shortcuts not-so-well-hidden throughout
some tracks (allegedly)!
- Avoid losing at all costs!
