Hint: When selecting a fighter, cheat. Set up the game to have two human
players and let your other gamepad go unused. This provides an opportunity to
learn a gladiator's moves without getting beaten to a pulp in the meantime.
                               
Hint: Read the manual first. The list of individual moves saves a lot of time
and frustration.

Hint: Master the Guard move, which has you crouching and protecting your body.
Though it sounds like it's for wussies, if Death Row Jones is chucking a
flaming spear at you, Guard will reduce the potential damage by 75 percent.
