Enigma 1: The first tools

The player has to make a makeshift stone axe.

In your inventory, you have:
- the following item found in a scene: the stone to be fashioned
- the following item found in an historical factsheet: the percussion tool.

• Drag the stone to be fashioned from the inventory, and drop it onto the
grass
above the handle..
• Drag the percussion tool from the inventory and drop onto the stone.
• Once the stone has been shaped, take it and drop it to the left side of the
handle.



Enigma 2: Fire

The task is to set up a modern camp for a tribe.

In your inventory, you have:
- The following items found in the scenes: kindling, twigs, hut.
- The following items found in the historical factsheets: tinder, fires,
torch.

1. Drag the kindling and its small board from the inventory and drop them
onto the grass
2. Drag the tinder from the inventory over to the fire stick
3. Click on the fire stick until a flame is obtained
4. Drag the twigs from the inventory and drop them over the flame. A fire
starts
5. Drag the hut from the inventory and drop it to the right of the screen
6. Drag the fires from the inventory and drop them onto the grass.
7. Drag the torch from the inventory and drop it over the lit fire.
The cursor becomes a torch.
8. Light the unlit fires by positioning the torch over them.



Enigma 3: Agriculture and livestock

The method for this enigma is to drop the correct item from the portfolio into
its correct place so that the corresponding image appears.
In your inventory, you have:

- The following items found in the scenes: sower, potter, plough, fire,
pottery,
flax, animal traction, spinner, wool, herd, milk
- The following items found in the historical factsheets: needle, fabric,
cereals,
meat.

To solve this enigma, the solutions are given to you in the following
manner, in the form of a column: from top to bottom and from left to
right.

" Column 1 ": needle, sower, potter
" Column 2 ": fabric, tillage, pottery
" Column 3 ": flax, animal traction, cereals
" Column 4 ": spinner, meat
" Column 5 ": wool, herd, milk



Enigma 4: Transport

In your inventory, you have:
- The following items found in the scenes: the inventory, hitching bar,
sides of the cart, amphora, sacks of wheat, sail of the boat,
2 crewmen and captain
- The following items found in the historical factsheets: diagram of the
cart,
outline of the boat, rudder

Stage 1: Building the cart

• Drag the cart diagram from the inventory and drop it onto the board
• Drag from the inventory, one by one, the wheel, the hitching bar and the
sides
of the cart, and drop them over the diagram.
• Drag the amphora from the inventory and drop it onto the cart.
• Drag the sacks from the inventory and drop them onto the cart.
• Click on the Egyptian port. The loaded cart appears there.

Stage 2: Building the boat

1. Drag the outline of the boat from the inventory and drop it onto the board
2. Drag the boat's rudder from the inventory and position it on the outline
3. Drag the boat's sail from the inventory and position it on the outline
4. 4. Drag from the inventory, one by one, the two crewmen and the captain
and drop them onto the boat.
5. Drag the sacks of merchandise in the scene that have just been unloaded
from the cart and drop them onto the boat



Enigma 5: Metals

In your inventory, you have:
- The following items found in the scenes: furnace, bellows, foundry worker,
unit of fuel, 250 units of copper, 5 units of tin, a second set of bellows,
2 units of fuel, 100 units of iron, blacksmith.
- The following items found in the historical factsheets: axe mould,
bracelet mould, dagger mould.

Stage 1: The axe

• Drag the furnace from the inventory and drop it onto the greyed-out outline.
• Drag the bellows from the inventory and drop them onto the furnace.
• Drag the foundry worker from the inventory and drop him by the furnace.
• Drag the axe mould and drop it over the furnace.
• Drag the unit of fuel and drop it into the door of the furnace. The fire
lights up
• Take first the 250 units of copper, then the 25 units of tin from the
inventory
and drop them into the door of the furnace.
• The axe is ready!!

Stage 2: The bracelet

1. Drag the bracelet mould from the inventory and drop it into the furnace.
2. Drag the extra unit of fuel and drop it into the door of the furnace. The
fire relights.
3. Take first the 50 units of copper, then the 5 units of tin from the
inventory
and drop them into the door of the furnace
4. The bracelet is ready!

Stage 3: The dagger

• Drag the second set of bellows from the inventory and drop them into the
furnace
• Drag the two units of fuel from the inventory and drop them into the door
of the furnace. The fire relights
• Drag the dagger mould from the inventory and drop it into the furnace door.
• Drag the 100 units of iron from the inventory and drop them into the door
of the furnace..
• When the mould is open, take the blacksmith from the inventory and drop
him to the right of the furnace
• The dagger is finished!



Enigma 6: The invention of writing

In your inventory, you have:
- The following items found in the scenes: Sumerian tablet, cart, jars,
Egyptian
papyrus, silk, Chinese parchment, incense
- The following items found in the historical factsheets: The following
Sumerian words or phrases: cart, jars, big, the river, mountain, cross.
The following Egyptian words or phrases: army, in the process of,
between, pass, in the direction of, river

Stage 1: Translating the Sumerian table

• Drag the Sumerian tablet from the inventory and drop it on the board.
• Drag the Sumerian words from the inventory and piece together the following
text:
• "With the cart and the jars, leave the river and cross the river between
the small and the large mountain"
• Drag the cart from the inventory and drop it onto the Egyptian city.
• Drag the jars from the inventory and drop them onto the cart.
• The cart appears in China, rendering the "An'Yan" scene accessible.

Stage 2: Translating the Egyptian papyrus

1. Drag the Egyptian papyrus from the inventory and drop it onto the board.
2. Drag the Egyptian words from the inventory and piece together the following
text:
3. "The army is in the process of advancing between two mountains,
travelling in the direction of the river, descending in the direction of
the
current,
heading north"
4. Drag the silk from the inventory and drop it onto the cart.
5. The cart appears in Mesopotamia, rendering the "Mesopotamia" scene
accessible.

Stage 3: Translating the Chinese text
• Drag the Chinese parchment from the inventory and drop it onto the board.
• Drag the Chinese words from the inventory and piece together the following
text:
• "Praise be to he who has opened up the route, now he can return to
his home as soon as possible; may incense and silk make him wealthy"
• Drag the incense from the inventory and drop it on the cart.
• The cart then appears in Egypt.



Enigma 7: Trade

In your inventory, you have:
- The following items found in the scenes: fabric, pottery, bronze objects.
- The following item found in the historical factsheets: the Code of
Hammurabi.

Stage 1: Sale of fabrics

• Drag the fabric from the inventory and drop it onto the left pan of the
scales.
• Drag the bronze pieces obtained and drop them onto the wheat.
• Drag the remaining change from the table and drop it on the olives.

Stage 2: Sale of pottery

1. Drag the pottery from the inventory and drop it on the left pan of the
scales.
2. Take the silver pieces obtained and drop them on the incense. There is no
change.

Stage 3: Sale of bronze objects

• Drag the bronze objects from the inventory and drop them onto the left
pan of the scales.
• Drag the gold pieces obtained and drop them onto the camel.
• Take the change obtained and drop it onto the wine.

Stage 4: Checking the transaction

1. Drag the Code of Hammurabi from the inventory and drop it onto the
middle box to validate the transaction.



Enigma 8: Printing

In your inventory, you have:
- The following items found in the scenes: ink, paper, metal moveable type,
template page, case, press.
- The following items found in the historical factsheets: Mesopotamian seal,
first printed text, first printed book, moveable type, portrait of
Gutenberg.

Stage 1: Chronology of inventions

Stage 3: Printing

1. Drag the press from the inventory and drop it into the scene.
2. Drag, first the paper, then the ink from the inventory and drop
them into the screen.



Enigma 9: Around the world

In your inventory, you have:

Stage 1: Preparation of the vessel

1. Drag the chest of gold from the inventory and drop it into the ship's hold.
2. Pick up the provisions from the inventory and drop them into the hold.
3. Pick up the water from the inventory and drop it into the hold
4. One by one, drag from the inventory the sailors, the bosun, and
the navigator and drop them onto the corresponding outlines.
5. The tiller, the sail and the compass appear; the boat is now seaworthy.

Stage 2: The coast of Brazil

1. By clicking on the tiller, set the course to south-west.
2. Click on the sail to hoist the rigging.
3. The boat approaches the coast of Brazil, and a new scene is accessible.

Stage 3: The Moluccas

1. Drag the additional provisions from the inventory and drop them into the
hold.
2. The boat is ready to sail again.
3. By clicking on the tiller, set the course to southwest.
4. Click on the sail to hoist the rigging.
5. At the Magellan Straits, set the tiller to the northwest and click on
the sail to reach the Moluccas
6. The boat approaches the Moluccas, and a new scene is now accessible.

Etape 4 : Sйville

1. Drag the camphor and ginger from the inventory and drop it into the ship's
hold
2. The boat is ready to sail again.
3. By clicking on the tiller, set the course to west/south-west.
4. Click on the sail to hoist the rigging.
5. At the Cape of Good Hope, set the course to north/north-west.
6. Click on the sail to hoist the rigging.
7. At Cape Verde, set the course to north/north-east.
8. Click on the sail to hoist the rigging.
9. You arrive at Seville.



Enigma 10: The Industrial revolution

In your inventory, you have:
- The following items found in the scenes: steam-powered pump,
mechanical looms, rails, girders, the Trevithick locomotive, carriage.
- the following item found in the historical factsheets: Newcomen's engine.

Stage 1: Newcomen's engine.

1. Drag Newcomen's engine from the portfolio and drop it onto the drawing.
The parts of the engine will separate.
2. Put the engine back together by dragging and dropping the parts
onto the drawing. The block must be positioned first, then the cylinder
and the arm, followed by the other parts, last of which should be the taps.

Stage 2: Modernising the region

1. Drag the steam-powered pump from the inventory and drop it onto
the mine (the building in the background).
2. Drag the steam-powered motor from the inventory and drop it onto
the factory in the foreground.
3. Drag the mechanical loom from the inventory and drop it onto the factory.
4. Drag the rails from the inventory and drop them into the set.
The cursor changes into a rail. Click on the tracks to lay the rails.
When you have completed the task, the cursor returns to normal.
5. Drag the girders from the inventory and drop them onto the wooden
bridge to make a bridge with steel girders
6. Drag the Trevithick locomotive from the inventory and drop it into the set.
7. Drag the carriage from the inventory and drop it into the set.



Enigma 11: Electricity

In your inventory, you have:
- The following items found in the scenes: Thomas Edison, steam-powered
dynamo, arc lamp, Joseph Wilson Swan, incandescent lamp,
induction motor, Nikola Telsa.
- The following items found in the historical factsheets: the prototype
of the electric generator, Volta, magneto-electricity, Leclanchй, Hacksbee,
William Grove, efficient dynamo, Ampиre, Faraday, efficient engine,
synchronous motor.

Stage 1: Completing the chronology and matching inventor with invention

To solve this enigma, the solutions are given in a linear fashion, in the form
of
lines going from left to right.

" Line 1 ": prototype of generator / magneto-electricity / efficient dynamo
" Line 2 ": Volta / Leclanchй / Edison
" Line 3 ": arc lamp
" Line 4 ": Hacksbee / Grove / Swan
" Line 5 ": synchronous motor
" Line 6 ": Ampиre / Faraday / Telsa

Stage 2: Equipping a town

1. Drag and drop the steam-powered dynamo onto the power station :
it lights up and comes to life.
2. Next, in no particular order :
- Drop the asynchronous motor onto the tram or the factory : the tram
and the factory light up.
- Drag and drop the practical incandescent lamp onto the screen :
the homes and streets light up.



Enigme 12 : The telephone

In your inventory, you have:
- The following items found in the scenes : the telephone exchange,
the switchboard operator
- The following item found in the historical factsheets : the telephone

Stage 1: Assemble the telephone

1. Drag the telephone from the inventory and drop it onto the drawn outline.
It breaks up into parts.
2. Arrange the parts correctly in the following order :
3. The earpiece support
4. The transverse bar
5. The left earpiece
6. The right earpiece (the one with the microphone)
7. The crank
8. The cursor then changes into a telephone. Click on each of the houses
to install a set there.

Stage 2: Setting up the telephone network

1. Drag the manual exchange from the inventory and drop it onto
the building in the background.
2. Drag the switchboard operator from the inventory and drop her onto the
building.
3. Using the red lines that then appear as a guide, link each telephone
pole to the exchange, then each house to its telephone pole.

Drag the "Tarmac" item from the inventory and drop it into the set. The cursor

Click on the town at the top right of the screen, and link it to the town at the
bottom left. Click on the town at the top centre of the screen, and link it to
the one at the bottom centre.

Stage 2 : The railway

Drag the "Rails" item from the inventory and drop it into the set. The cursor
then changes into a rail.
Click on the town at the bottom left of the screen, and link it to the one on
the
mid-right.

Stage 3 : Signals and vehicles

Drag the following items from the inventory and drop them into the set:
The policeman
The traffic lights
Car one
Car two
The station
The roundabout
The locomotive
The carriage




Enigma 14 : Radio - tйlйvision

The object here is to put together a television report on the history of radio.

1. Drag each radio set from the inventory and drop it in the "radio set" box
corresponding to its year.
2. The items, "news" and "sound effects archives" go in the following order:

Drag the following items from the inventory and drop them onto the worktop:

8. When the motherboard is in position, drag the microprocessor from
